Heavy Metal Toxicity & Need For Regular Detoxification

What is Heavy Metal Toxicity

It is common knowledge that we live in a polluted environment, perhaps the most polluted in the earths known history. Air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, even noise pollution are some of the hottest topics discussed and debated on a daily basis at home and workplace, in schools and research arenas, in local and federal governments, and at international forums. Whether we realize it or not and whether we have any choice in the matter or not, we are constantly and continually exposed to chemical elements throughout our daily lives. Many of these elements enter our bodies through inhalation, ingestion, or skin contact.
Heavy Metals are some of these chemical elements that are commonly found in our environment and interestingly in our diet as well. They are in alphabetical order: antimony, arsenic, bismuth, cadmium, cerium, chromium, cobalt, copper, gallium, gold, iron, lead, manganese, mercury, nickel, platinum, silver, tellurium, thallium, tin, uranium, vanadium, and zinc. Some of these names are recognizable by the average person off the street. However, many of them are not. So what is so important and controversial about these special elements?
Surprisingly, small amounts of some of these heavy metals are actually necessary for good health. These beneficial heavy metals are referred to as the trace elements, and they are iron, copper, manganese, and zinc. These elements, or some form of them, are commonly found naturally in foodstuffs, in fruits and vegetables, and in commercially available multivitamin products. Large amounts of any of these metals, even the beneficial ones, may cause acute or chronic toxicity (poisoning). This happens when the quantity taken in is so much that the body can not metabolize or excrete it fast enough, and so the metal accumulates in the organs and tissues.
Heavy metal toxicity has become a major discussion point in the topic of healthcare in the past few decades due to the tremendous increase in the quantity of these chemicals in our environment and the frequency of exposure to them by the average person. Moreover, a great deal of recent scientific research has shed light on the detrimental effects of these elements on our health. Many experts believe that the enormous increases in birth defects and breast cancer in the past 2-3 decades, or the remarkable statistical decrease in male sperm count since the 1940s, as well as the many-fold increases in cancer mortality and heart disease in the past 100 years, are all contributable directly or indirectly to the increases in environmental toxins.

Sources of Exposure

Industrial exposure is a common route of exposure for adults. Many agricultural, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical processes use or produce a number of these heavy metals as a by-product. In children, the most common route of exposure is through accidental ingestion. Children who play in contaminated soils or eat or chew on objects that are not food, such as dirt, painted objects, plastic or metal toys, can build up toxic levels of heavy metals in their bodies.

Following is a partial list of potential sources for exposure:

* Drinking water (contaminated, over chlorinated, floridated)
* Medications
* Vaccines
* Fish / seafood
* Growth hormones in many foods
* Food additives
* Tobacco smoke
* Aluminum cookware
* Cosmetics
* Amalgam dental fillings
* Anti-perspirants / deodorants
* Pesticides
* Fertilizers
* Insecticides
* Heavy traffic
* Wood preservatives
* Fuel additives
* Thermometers
* Silver mining
* Battery manufacture
* Dietary iron supplements

Abnormalities, Signs & Symptoms of Heavy Metal Toxicity

The human body has a remarkable ability to cleanse itself internally. However, when this system of self-cleansing becomes overloaded and toxic residues start to build up in the tissues and organs, the bodys ability to perform and maintain itself at optimum efficiency become impaired at the lowest (cellular) level. This sets off a domino effect for physical illness and potential health problems. Every type of tissue and thus every organ in the body can be a target of a toxic build up of one or more of these heavy metals. This means that every system in our bodies - nervous, immune, digestive, reproductive, cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal - will be effected.

Following is a list of structural and functional abnormalities associated with one or more heavy metal toxins:

* Immune deficiencies; compromised ability to fight off diseases
* Greater vulnerability to viral and bacterial infections
* Increased incidences of asthma
* Pulmonary edema
* Pneumonia
* Laryngitis
* Bronchitis
* Nasal ulcers
* Respiratory tract cancers
* Increased allergic attacks
* Attention problems (ADHD)
* Poor concentration
* Mental retardation
* Low IQ scores
* Loss of speech
* Speech disorders
* Decreased muscular strength
* Chronic fatigue
* Migraines
* Sleep difficulties
* Suicidal behaviors
* Depression
* Aggressive behaviors
* Anxiety
* Muscle pain

* Rashes
* Eczema
* Contact dermatitis
* Itchy / irritating skin
* Alopecia (hair loss)
* Menstrual pain
* Disturbances in menstrual cycle
* Genital abnormalities
* Birth defects
* Premature births
* Reproductive dysfunction
* Anemia
* Hypertension
* Increase heart rate
* Blood vessel damage
* Cardiovascular disease
* Hearing loss
* Blurred vision
* Light sensitivity
And the list goes on.
It is by no means implied here that if a person suffers from one or more of the conditions listed above he/she must certainly be a victim of heavy metal toxicity. Rather, this list indicates the plethora of health problems that heavy metal toxicity can surely contribute to.

What Can Be Done? Detox, Detox, Detox

It is obvious that unless we move to the middle of wilderness where no other human has set foot on (if there is such a place anymore), we can not escape our daily exposure to unwanted chemical elements. And while no process or modality can guarantee the prevention of such exposures, it is certainly logical to assume that an ongoing detoxification program will reduce the incidence of chronic degenerative diseases and improve overall quality of life. What is a detoxification program? It is the deliberate act of minimizing toxic accumulations in the body. Virtually all alternative healing approaches make substantial use of detoxification protocols. All ancient healing traditions, such as Ayurveda, Chinese, and Native American, have used detoxification as a cornerstone of their healing arts.
And now there is a state-of-the-art method to help cleanse harmful toxins for the body. It is called EB-Pro Energy Balancer & Detoxifier Foot Bath. EB-Pro is the worlds most advanced ion therapy system, and its function is to facilitate the bodys natural processes such as homeostasis, detoxification, and cellular function. It balances and restores the bodys Ph and electromagnetic energy.
EB-Pro uses direct current to create an ionic energy field in the foot bath similar to the energy produced by the human body. This energy is created by altering the electron and proton load in water to create an electromagnetic altered water environment. The energy flow from the EB-Pro increases the body"s cellular activities. This sub-threshold energy is very similar to micro current or cold laser therapy, both of which have been proven to increase and create more cellular energy. This increase allows the cells to work and detoxify at a higher rate. The ability to work at a higher rate enhances the cells to withstand stressors both physical and chemical.
The EB-Pro has shown in clinical trials using electro dermal scanning to improve and balance the body"s energy channels or meridians. These meridians begin or end on the feet or hands and provide a pathway for energy to flow to or from a particular organ. A person"s current state of health is determined by how well energy flows through these meridians or energy channels. The EB-Pro has also shown in clinical trials to change and balance the body"s pH. Balancing the body"s pH is critical in assisting the body in every aspect, from its ability to detox to its ability to digest.
The therapeutic benefits of EB-Pro are recognized by the American Medical Association.
